Our house (vol. 2)

So it looks more or less like my technical issues have been fixed (only took three separate hour-long chats and two emails). Which brings us back to our not-at-all regular transmission.

Here we have a slightly useful tour of our new house, in the standard weird 3D panorama/sphere thing. Probably still including my feet.

This will probably be our permanent home for the next three years, so anyone who visits will also be able to see it in person (and sleep in our spare room, which currently has only a single bed. We will hopefully get this sorted before any couples visit, but in case we don’t, consider this fair warning).

This is our front door, to the left (as you come through the door) is the living room, to the right are the hall cupboards and then the main hallway. Off the hallway to the left are the two spare rooms (one is currently a “storing furniture we would like to get rid of”/ironing room*, the other is the aforementioned single bed bedroom). On the right is the main bathroom and then the water heater/fusebox/storage room. At the end is our bedroom.

This is our mostly bare living/dining area. Recent additions include the plants and the purple cushion. Through the door is the kitchen/laundry.

A much better kitchen than our previous one. But still quite weird (e.g. the fact the laundry is inside it). Featuring:

  • combo microwave/grill/convection oven
  • fresh bread rolls cooling on the rack (not made by me, but I did make the bread in the container behind the rolls)
  • giant avocados slowly ripening
  • two fire extinguishers
  • giant emergency radio
  • one solitary drawer

Our bedroom. Ensuite off to the left (right? Which way are you looking?). Lots of white walls and a bookcase full of not books. Also we have a safe, because we don’t have local bank accounts and aren’t supposed to leave piles of (not-quite-worthless) cash lying around.

*When we moved in our place was massively over-furnished, including a desk in the bedroom, a desk in the dining room and random armchairs everywhere. We have been progressively rearranging and moving the things we don’t want into this room so we feel a little less we’re going to trip over something whenever we turn around.
